to have your feet in excellent shape!

Photos and recipes for you to enjoy!

A photographic record of the Foot Spa Marathon in support of the 261 Women's Marathon which took place in Mallorca this Sunday past the 30th of March! It was the first ever all Women's Martahon in Europe and Mallorca was proud to be hosting it. Gaia Bathtime was proud to be involved with the pre Marathon activities!
Following Pre Marathon recommendations we thought it to be a very good idea to offer lots of different chocolate treats during the Foot Spa. Jane Rolfe made her famous and fabulous chocolate cake and we cranked up our chocolate fountain!
Below you can find a recipe for making your own fizzing Foot Spa blend and the recipe for the Cocolate Cake that you all enjoyed on Saturday

Foot Spa Blend to make at home!

Dry Stage
1 Kg Baking Soda
0.5 kg Corn Starch Maizena
250 gr Salt
0.5  kg Citric Acid

Wet Stage
175 ml pepita d e Uva Oil
50 ml water
Dissolve 2.5 ml Borax in Water* optional
25 ml essential oil

Blend together well all the ingredients of the Wet Stage* When you think you have mixed it enough, always mix it a little more *
Mix together all the parts of your Wet Stage and moving fast and rigorously beat the two parts together. This step has to be done fast as you don t want all the fizzing reaction to happen in your bowl but later when you add a ladle full of the is deviously scented Foot Spa Blend to your Foot Spa. The Baking Powder and the Citric Acid work wonder in cleaning and softening the hard skin on your feet. The Grape Seed Oil and essential oils will hydrate and vitalise your feet! Happy Bathtime!

NOW … to the Chocolate cake!

Chocolate Cakes galore for

Chocolate Goodies

This chocolate refrigerator cake is wicked! And even better, you don't need to do any baking  Jaimie Oliver
  • 200 g digestive biscuits
  • 110 g whole pecans, roughly chopped
  • 110 g pistachio nuts, peeled
  • 10 glace cherries
  • 2 ready-made meringue nests, smashed up
  • 150 g unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 200 g good-quality dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids) or you can use
  • white chocolate

This chocolate cake is wicked! And even better, you don't need to do any baking.

Break the biscuits into small pieces directly into a large bowl. Add the pecans, pistachio nuts, cherries and smashed meringue. Put the rest of the ingredients into a second, heatproof bowl and either put this over a pan of simmering water, or into a microwave until melted.

Mix the contents of both bowls together and get yourself a container that will act as a mould. To help with turning the cake out, line the container with clingfilm, leaving plenty of extra clingfilm at the edges to fold over the top. Now spoon the mixture into the container. Put into the fridge to firm up, then turn out , removing the clingfilm, and cut into chunky slices.

This cake can be kept in an airtight container for a few days and actually improves in flavour after a few days.

If you're allergic to nuts then simply leave them out of the recipe.

EAT IT BEFORE A MARATHON!
